showcasing character design, script writing, plot writing, and dialogue capabilities
A short interactive puzzle mystery, composed mainly out of over-text dialogue. Concepted, composed, and completed over the course of 2 weeks. The total length of the story (with all possible dialogue) is roughly 6,000 words.
The gameplay here is myst-esque, with half of the game being the information the player receives through conversation and the other half being the out-of-game thinking and researching. This story has 4 possible endings, each based on the outcome of how much correct information the player is able to relay.

Script Writing: A Crack In Understanding
A timed script-writing assignment, completed in 60 minutes. The whole script is 600 words long.
Overview: This was a short in-class assignment that was completed over the course of an hour. The prompt was to write a conversation between two characters that could not be seen in order to practice distinguishing voices through dialogue. In this script, I have an out-of-camera conversation between two characters with distinct talking patterns.

Character Design: Town Population
A character document made following a strict project brief: create a historically accurate, diverse western town population. This document is around 7,500 words.
Overview: This project involved populating a town for one section of a historical RPG and creating 5 stories with these new characters that tie back into the main plot. The town’s population required five major characters, 8 NPCs with minor interactions, and 10 background NPCs with a few barks that the player can hear around town. This project also required a lot of research, since the brief required a believable cast of characters based on people and communities that actually were living in the “wild west” at the time.
I researched the history and populations of western towns and puebloans in order to create realistic and believable and respectful characters for a historical game. The intent was to create a town with an interesting story that would make sense for the time period and location it was set in.
